Yoga for pregnant women in Budapest

If you're expecting a baby, maternity yoga in the heart of Budapest can offer you a real sense of security and joyful relaxation. Many years ago, I was a guest at one of these classes for the first time - full of questions, curiosity and, of course, worry. We put a special emphasis on making sure that every new mum is as safe as possible and can find the pace that suits her best. I heartily recommend that you feel free to ask questions, whether it's about breathing or just relaxing - there are no expectations here!

At Yogamama, maternity yoga is not just exercise, it's a chance to recharge in a supportive community and get you physically and mentally ready for birth and motherhood.

When is maternity yoga recommended?

Maternity yoga is recommended from the second trimester, i.e. from the 13th week until the end of pregnancy. During the first trimester, you should rest and wait until it is safe to start the exercises. If you are unsure, check with your doctor!

Can I attend the class from home?

You can also join an online maternity yoga class, so you won't miss out on a joint practice even if you want to follow the class from home. This is ideal if you're comfortable practicing at your own pace, or can't make it in person due to distance.

How does a maternity yoga class work?

A maternity yoga class always starts with a relaxed tune-up, followed by a safe sequence of movements specially designed for pregnant women. Some of the main parts:

  • breathing exercises to reduce stress
  • gentle spine and hip opening movements
  • comfortable, supported postures
  • pelvic floor strengthening exercises
  • light stretching and relaxation

The emphasis is on comfort and safe movement throughout.

How will you feel after your pregnant yoga class?

After a pregnant yoga class, you'll feel fresher, lighter, your back and lower back pain will be relieved and your sleep quality can improve. You may experience a release of stress and tension as your body and mind prepare for the arrival of your baby.

After the classes, most people feel more balanced, energetic and relaxed - try it and experience this positive change for yourself!
